Musical Pro Bono!

NYC Bar Chorus returns to Carnegie Hall!
The New York City Bar Chorus made its second appearance at legendary Carnegie Hall on March 29, 2026, with a "solo set" within the concert "Sing/Play," presented by Distinguished Concerts International New York. Our program featured our trademark diverse repertoire, including "Over and Done" from Schmigadoon! (with composer Cinco Paul in the house to enjoy the Carnegie Hall debut of his music). Also on the setlist were songs by Bob Dylan, Brandi Carlile, Morten Lauridsen, Alan Menken, Stephen Sondheim, Billie Eilish, and Richard Smallwood.
About the
New York City Bar Chorus
The faces of our audience members say it all! Whether performing at rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, or community centers, we see surprised, smiling faces when we say we are a group of lawyers and legal professionals bringing music to brighten their day. "Singing lawyers?" we hear — yes, we are. Then their amusement turns to amazement when they hear an engaging, professional-quality concert of diverse, sophisticated music that often inspires both laughs and tears.

Founded in 1993 upon John Feerick's inspired suggestion (during his term as NYC Bar president) to develop a "musical pro bono" organization, and continuing through more than 300 community outreach performances, the Chorus has showcased the harmonious voices of lawyers and legal professionals for thousands of people in diverse communities for thirty plus years!
