Kathryn E. Schneider, a corporate, securities, and M&A attorney, has worked professionally as an organist and choral director since her early teens. While attending Columbia Law School, she served as Assistant University Organist and was Vocal Director of the Columbia Law Revue shows and cabarets. Kathy pursued choral conducting coursework at Westminster Choir College and Teachers College (Columbia), and studied organ at Columbia principally with George Stauffer. Kathy has been musical director of the City Bar Chorus since 1996 (after three years as the group's accompanist). She has served on numerous City Bar committees and was Co-Chair of the City Bar Chorus Committee from 1996 to 1999 (later marrying her Co-Chair, Paul Getzels). Kathy studies voice privately with acclaimed soprano Harolyn Blackwell, and has been honored to conduct often at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in recent years, including at Mostly Mozart's 50th anniversary mass-choral event the public domain (al fresco in the plaza) and regularly every December at the National Chorale's legendary "Handel's Messiah Sing-In" at Geffen Hall.
