Our Mission

Our primary mission is to reach out to the community through music! The Chorus has presented more than 300 outreach concerts, almost entirely in New York City, since its founding in 1993:

Residents of the Salvation Army's Adult Rehab Center overcoming substance abuse

Cancer patients and their caregivers at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge and Ronald McDonald House

Older LGBTQ+ people at the Edie Windsor SAGE Midtown Center

Seniors at residences such as Upper East Side Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, The New Jewish Home, and Mary Manning Walsh Home

The visually impaired at Selis Manor

Retired actors at The Lillian Booth Actors Home

Formerly homeless seniors at West 108 residence and young people at Covenant House

AIDS patients at several health care facilities

Weary firefighters in the months after 9/11 (singing in their firehouse garages)

Grieving friends and families at VNS Health (formerly Visiting Nurse Service of New York) interfaith hospice memorial services
